Identifying which ads, content, and channels are the most effective is essential to coming up with a successful business strategy. In the end, this is the only way to make your work more efficient and productive.
But how do you know which ad has converted the most, which site has generated more buyers, or which keywords have had the best results?
Hotmart offers a hassle-free campaign identification tool: the SRC/SCK system. It’s simple to use is a must-have item in the toolbelt of our more experienced users.
To start using Hotmart’s SRC/SCK, just follow the steps below:
Setting up the SRC/SCK parameters in the link
If you’re a Producer and want to find out about your promotion campaign results according to the checkout origin, you’ll need to enter the SCK parameters.
Let’s suppose you are running 2 campaigns, one on Facebook (FB) and another on offline media, a poster (Pst). So, your standard HotLinks would look something like this:
The part "https://pay.hotmart.com/XYZ" corresponds with the checkout page, while the part "&sck=FB" corresponds with the SCK parameter.
If a sale is made through HotLink 1, it will be recorded for this sale, on the “Origin” field, FB and, if it is through HotLink 2, it will be registered as Pst.
If you want to promote your own product as an Affiliate or direct your consumers to an alternative sales page and measure your campaigns, you can also use the SRC parameter. In this case, your links would look like this:
If you’re an Affiliate, the parameter SRC allows you to identify which of your campaigns is generating the best results.

To do that, you’ll need to enter the parameter ?src=xxx (where XXX is the identification you want) at the end of the HotLink.
In this case, your standard HotLinks would be:
Instruction on creating the SRC/SCK code
When registering a campaign identification parameter, you should you enter the symbol ? in case you’re entering the first parameter on the link and the symbol & in case the link already has another registered parameter. For example:
Number of characters:
You can create codes with up to 30 characters. This way, it’s easy to identify the ads in Hotmart’s reports and you don’t have to reduce the name of the ad or campaign significantly.
You can insert Pipes into your code to organize the data into text and separate the features of your ad.
For example, let’s suppose you’re promoting a product in the niche of handcrafts, using Google Adwords, and targeting these keywords:
how to make handcrafts;
In this case, with the possibility of inserting a pipe and having the limit of up to 30 characters, the best configuration of HotLink with SRC will be:
That way, when you download the sales report, you'll be able to separate by rows which channels and ads have generated more sales. Then, it’ll be a lot easier to organize your HotLinks and work with the data in your Excel spreadsheets.
